Cute photo receipts, printed at your event
Let guests capture the event on their own phones from wherever they are and take home each shot as a grainy black-and-white keepsake. The photos and optional messages they add stay together in a digital guestbook, without asking everyone to queue for one shared camera.
What is a receipt photobooth?
A receipt photobooth is an instant-print photo booth that prints guests’ photos in black and white on receipt paper. Monotone’s version is a compact tabletop print station rather than a booth, with no camera or backdrop to queue at. Guests scan our QR code from anywhere at the event, take a photo on their own phone, and collect the print moments later.
How guests take part
Scan the QR code and take a photo

Guests scan the event QR code or tap a shared link, take a photo on their own phone and add a message or drawing if they like. No account or app download needed.
Collect your photo receipt
Guests then collect their receipt photo prints from the station. We run printing and help with collection.
Keep the memories together

Photos and optional messages or drawings stay in your digital guestbook to revisit after the event.
A digital guestbook made for your event
Guests’ photos and any messages or drawings they add are collected in a digital book for you to look through after the event. Explore receipt and guestbook customisation.

How Monotone compares with a conventional photobooth
Monotone lets guests join from around the event, while a conventional booth creates a dedicated place for controlled portraits.

Questions about Monotone
How much does it cost to hire Monotone?
Packages start from S$250 for the first 2 hours, then S$80 for each extra hour. The final price depends on your event setup, duration and customisation. Contact us for a quote.
Why is it black and white, and why does it look grainy?
The printer creates each image from tiny black dots instead of colour or grey ink. This dot pattern is called dithering, and it's what gives the print its grainy receipt look.
Is it the same as a vintage photo booth?
Not quite. A vintage-style booth usually means a retro cabinet where guests pose at one camera and collect a photo strip. Monotone has a similar black-and-white feel, but guests use their own phones and collect photo receipts. Photo booth types compared explains the difference.
How many guests can take part?
Guests can take photos at the same time on their own phones. Share your guest count and event timing so we can recommend the number of print stations and service hours for your event.
Do guests need to download an app?
No. Guests scan the event QR code or tap a shared link, then take their photo in their phone’s browser. There’s no app to install and no account to create.
How quickly does a print come out?
A print usually comes out about 10 seconds after a guest sends their photo. At busy moments, guests may wait a little while earlier prints are collected.
How long do the prints last?
Thermal prints can stay readable for months or longer with careful storage. Keep them away from heat, sunlight and moisture. Every photo and message also stays in your digital guestbook. How long thermal photo prints last covers storing and framing them.
Do we rent the printer and run it ourselves?
No, we run it for you. We bring the station, set it up, handle printing during your event and pack down afterwards, so there’s nothing for you to operate.
What do you need from the venue?
A small table, a power socket and an internet connection. We set up in about 15 minutes.
