What prints well
- Bold lines and solid shapes. Fine hairlines and pale greys fade away on thermal paper.
- High-contrast artwork. Use the Ink slider to see which parts print.
- Text you can read at arm’s length. The smallest size here is about 2 mm tall on a 58 mm receipt.
- Photos with good light on faces. The printer turns shades into tiny dots.

Common questions
Can I print this template myself?
The download is an image for sharing ideas, not a template file for photo booth software or a home printer. Monotone receipts are printed at your event on our thermal printers.
Are my photos and artwork uploaded?
Your original files are processed in your browser. When you download, the finished image passes through our server without being stored. Shared links show your words, fonts and layout; your photo and uploaded artwork aren’t included.
Will the real print look like this?
Close, but not exactly. This is a quick preview for trying ideas. Before your event, we test your final design on the same kind of printer and paper.
Can you use our own logo, artwork or font?
Yes. The fonts and art here are just a few to play with. Send us your files when you enquire. We prepare artwork for black and white printing and check that your font prints clearly at receipt size.
How big are the receipts?
Receipts are 58 mm wide by default, which fits nicely behind a phone. We can print on 80 mm paper on request.
